Cornell Student Creates AI Nutrition Tracking App
Selina Li, a Cornell Tech master’s degree student in computer science and a competitive golfer since age 7, has developed a new nutrition tracking app. Growing up in Hong Kong, Li said golf played an important role in her life and led her to focus on nutrition early on.
According to Li, existing nutrition tracking tools require manual input and are often designed for specific weight-loss goals. She created her app to provide a more convenient method for tracking food intake, with an emphasis on monitoring protein levels rather than achieving 100% accuracy. Li noted that the integration of AI tools has simplified the process of nutrition tracking.
Li is one of several entrepreneurial students at Cornell who have launched startups aimed at transforming the food system. These ventures focus on reducing waste, increasing nutrient density, and improving food choices. Additional details about Li’s work and related student innovations are available at Cornell University’s news site.
