Abington Library Offers Adult Pen & Ink Course
The Abington Community Library is offering a four-week adult course exploring the art of pen and ink. The course will take place on Thursdays evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on May 22, May 29, June 5, and June 12. Participants will learn techniques including dip-pen drawing, ink wash painting, and classic shading. Each week introduces a new art skill, and by the end of the course, each student will have a completed sketchbook containing a fine art piece.
The course is taught by local artist Leanna Yatcilla, a 2024 Ithaca College Fine Art graduate and Artist-in-Residence at the Waverly Community House, who brings over 14 years of art training and gallery experience. A $40 materials fee is required and covers a complete pen and ink set, which includes ink, a bowl-pointed dip pen, Micron pens, drawing pencils, erasers, a brush, and a paper pad.
Registration is in person at the Circulation Desk at the library, with payment accepted in cash, check made payable to Abington Community Library, or via Venmo (@AbingtonCommLib). Additional information about the course is available on the library’s website.
