Cornell Pep Band Energizes Fans at Athletic Events
Cornell University's Pep Band, made up of roughly 75 musicians, plays a key role in energizing fans at numerous athletic events. Although originally part of the Big Red Marching Band, the Pep Band became an independent organization in 1986. The band performs at a variety of venues, including ice hockey games at Lynah Rink as well as basketball, lacrosse, soccer, sprint football, wrestling, and track and field events. Many members belong to both the Pep Band and the Marching Band, though there are differences between the two groups.
